Garden's history

The castle park at Egeskov was designed by Niels Krag the Younger who was at Egeskov from 1722-1740. The layout of the park drew its inspiration from the castle parks at Fredensborg and Frederiksborg as well as those of Versailles.

Garden Awards

The garden of Egeskovv has won many garden awards, including CNN Travel, which in 2013 found Egeskov's gardens as one of the 12 most spectacular gardens in the world.

Egeskov Plant Shop

Take a little piece of Egeskov home with you. The selection of plants depends on the season and Egeskov's own bedding out plants are very much in evidence.

The mazes

Created from clipped beech hedge, the oldest maze of Egeskov was originally created in the 19th century for entertainment. Today you are not allowed to enter the old maze, but you can still take a look inside.
