On the castle's mezzanine, the floor between the first floor and the upper attic where the servants lived, you can see an interesting collection of historical duelling weapons. This discipline originated with the south-western European nobility, who during the 16th century developed specific rules for the fight: the challenge, weapons, seconds, etc.
A matter of honour
Early duels were most often fought with swords, but during the 19th century the use of pistols became widespread. Soon, special duelling pistol sets with two identical weapons were developed, as you can see on the ceiling.
A relevant side note is that the former owner of Egeskov Frederik Christian Krag, who you can see portrayed in the Yellow Room, allegedly died during such a duel in 1763 in Paris.
