    LUMINIS
    1. 1 - Fairy

Step back into childhood and let the fairy sprinkle you with magic dust. The first light installation you encounter on your way is The Fairy. Among the trees, she brings light and magic with her and wishes you good luck on your journey around the park.
    2. 2 - Vandhaven

Watch the water garden be transformed as DVC works its magic with sound and light.
    3. 3 - The Great Journey of the Swallowss

The swallows’ great journey begins at Egeskov Castle, where they gather before setting off on their long voyage toward Africa. With strong wings, they soar over gentle landscapes where green fields and rolling hills stretch as far as the eye can see. They follow rivers that wind through the land like silver ribbons and pass colorful villages and quiet forests. The swallows dance together in the air — light and graceful, always in perfect harmony. Along the way, they encounter changing weather conditions, from warm rays of sunshine to refreshing rain showers. They rest briefly on branches and rooftops to gather strength for the next stage of the journey. The voyage carries them past vast deserts and lush savannas as the African continent slowly unfolds before them. Each day brings new challenges, but also beautiful views and encounters with other animals. The swallows follow their instinct and their strength - united by a shared goal. This remarkable migration is a wonder of nature and a symbol of endurance and freedom.
    1. 4 - A Choreography of the moment

Step into a living circle of light. Your body becomes the brush, your step the rhythm. Each tile responds—lights up, breathes color. In the moment of touch, the dance begins. The light follows you, like a memory of movement. Colors flow when you walk, linger when you pause. A collective play of traces and presence. You create not with words, but with your being. The floor becomes a stage, the moment a work of art. Become part of the choreography that exists only now.
    2. 5 - Galleriet

Step into the Gallery, where beautiful light artworks by Michael Ahlefeldt are on display.
    3. 6 - In the Spotlight

This light artwork is all about you as a visitor. The moment you step onto the path, your presence is noticed. A gentle beam of light follows your movements, placing you in the spotlight. Each of your steps is accompanied by a warm glow of appreciation. You are not just a spectator, but an important part of the artwork. In the Spotlight shows that every person matters and deserves to be seen. The light honors your presence in an intimate and respectful way. At the LUMINIS Light Castle Festival at Egeskov slot, you become the radiant center. A moment to pause consciously with yourself and your place in the whole. For without you, this artwork would not be complete.
    1. 7 - The Univers

During the light festival in the beautiful forests of Egeskov Castle, something truly special happens: the planets of the galaxy have come to visit. After last year’s magical visit from the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune now appear among the ancient trees. Each planet shines in its own color and atmosphere - like living works of art between light and shadow. The planets seem to whisper to the trees, like old friends from the cosmos. Visitors wander among light installations that bring the universe down to earth. A breathtaking fusion of nature and starlit sky unfolds. It is as if the entire solar system descends for a moment to greet the audience. A celestial visit that sparks dreams and casts the forest in an entirely new light.
    2. 8 - They Were Here

They Were Here brings former residents of the historic gardens to life. People from the Middle Ages wander through the castle, meet one another, and enjoy the fresh air. These sculptures appear under UV light, bent from wire and sprayed with fluorescent paint. This makes the sculptures come alive. The characters of the past merge with their surroundings the park of Egeskov Slot and the castle. While the sculptures appear to be made of lines, they are actually three-dimensional. During LUMINIS light festival, 5 sculptures can be admired, and 2 small ones.
    3. 9 - Show på slottet

Projection on the castle is a visual art form, where light and movement are projected directly onto architecture and surfaces. The building’s shapes become part of the story, and the surfaces are transformed into living images. Light, colors, and animations follow the structure, creating the illusion of depth and motion. Together with sound, a complete sensory experience emerges. The familiar space changes character and is experienced anew. The architecture becomes a temporary work of art of light and rhythm.
    1. 10 - In-between Spaces

Two dancers move within their clearly defined spaces. At first, they appear isolated, alone in their own worlds, separated by invisible boundaries. Yet a noticeable connection emerges early on - a delicate thread woven from glances, gestures, and movement. Despite the physical separation, they communicate as if speaking the same language: the language of dance. The dance shows how relationships and emotions can be expressed without words and across distances. In the end, a shared expression emerges, where boundaries dissolve and a sense of unity takes shape.
    2. 11 - Triokiet

DVC transforms the path from Triokiet to the English Garden into a truly special experience. Enjoy the interplay of sound and light along the way.
    3. 12 - Den Engelske Have

Experience the English Garden in a truly unique way, as the large, ancient trees are brought to life with sound and light.
    1. 13- Nest in the Tree

In the middle of the forest hangs an extraordinary artwork: a large nest carefully woven between the branches of the tall trees. The nest resembles an oversized bird’s nest, but it is clearly crafted with human precision and creativity. Branches, willow twigs, and natural materials form an impressive weave that blends seamlessly into its surroundings. The structure seems to float between sky and earth, radiating a sense of peace and security. It sparks curiosity: is it a home for birds, a refuge for bees, or perhaps a gigantic dinosaur egg? The artwork also invites reflection on our relationship with nature and the way we make our homes within it. Its height gives the nest something unattainable, almost magical. At sunrise, light filters through the openings in the woven nest, creating a play of shadows on the forest floor.
    2. 14 - The Last Dance

At the end of summer, a special ritual begins: the swallows gather to embark on their long journey to Africa. In the park of Egeskov Slot, more and more swallows can be seen assembling, as if saying farewell to the land. Their songs sound excited, full of energy and preparation. They practice their flight, circling in the air and coordinating their rhythm. When the time is right, they take off a cloud of wings heading south. Their departure marks the end of summer, but also the beginning of a wondrous journey. An annual miracle, unfolding silently and elegantly above our heads.
    3. 15 - The Wonder of Water Light

In The Wonder of Water Light, visitors are invited on a creative and sensory journey into the realm of imagination. On a large water wall, abstract images with flowing movements and luminous colors are projected. The projections create a three-dimensional world where form and color merge. The water acts as a living medium in constant transformation. Some moments are calm and delicate, others powerful and dynamic. The experience challenges the boundaries between reality and illusion. Light and water enter into a close symbiosis, filling the space with an almost magical energy. Visitors move through the artwork and become part of the story. The Wonder of Water Light is more than a projection. It is an interactive artwork that awakens the senses and sets the imagination in motion.
    1. 16 - Frozen Fountain

Frozen Fountain was created by the Danish light artist Mads Vegas. His work spans from small pieces to large site-specific installations. Mads found inspiration for Frozen Fountain in Renaissance fountains and the lights of amusement parks. The work was specially created for LUMINIS.
    2. 17 - The Eye

Inspired by Sauron’s Eye, DVC has created an eye that keeps an eye on you…
