The Countess' Tower Room
The Countess' Tower Room
This room is named after Countess Antoinette Bille Brahe Selby, whose portrait is displayed on the wall. The décor features a combination of antique and more modern furniture, creating a lively interplay. It serves as a reminder that the castle’s interior is ever changing and influenced by successive generations.
The historian
recounts
Due to the room’s location and function as a tower room, it has always had a natural connection to the adjacent room and has therefore been used as a small sitting room or dressing room. During the first half of the 20th century, the room stood empty, but in more recent times the tower was connected to Countess Eleonora’s bedroom. Later, the room became Count Michael’s childhood room when he visited his grandparents at the castle. It is thus filled with many fond memories of the count’s upbringing and youth.
